Album Premiere: Last Giant Deliver Adrenaline-Rock Promise With ‘Heavy Habitat’

This week’s exclusive album premiere comes by way of Portland alt-rock project Last Giant, a new direction for System and Station alum RFK Heise. The album, titled Heavy Habitat, is out February 24th on Little One Ate The Big One Records (pre-order), but can be streamed in its entirety below.

Featuring production work from Adam Pike (who engineered Red Fang’s latest album), Heavy Habitat is a shit-kicking great time of an album, leaning into power hooks with a psychedelic edge on the perimeter of an adrenalized rock experience. With live support from Adam Shultz (bass) and Matt Wiles (drums), Heise is taking the wrapper off the project he’d honed through seven months of demos and recording, painstakingly recording each part on his own. The results of such focused effort clearly show that the man is onto something good.

As Heise puts it, “it’s a serious party record. A hard hitting party record.” We don’t disagree one bit. Listen to the world premiere album stream of Heavy Habitat, exclusively on Crave, and get your pre-order on here while you’re at it:

Keep up with Last Giant at their official site, on Facebook and Bandcamp, and catch them on tour at the spots below.
