Aussie singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett has shared yet another track from her forthcoming debut album Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit. The song, titled “Depreston”, was written during a recent house-hunting expedition in Melbourne’s inner-north suburb of Preston.
Depreston‘s leisurely music video (below) revives Courtney Barnett’s memories of the Preston area, which she once frequented. “I live in Thornbury now [but] when I first moved to Northcote I was kind of sad and just in this bad point,” Barnett said in a recent interview with Music Feeds.
“I went to Preston once a week to go to Centrelink and it just became this… idea because of that memory. But obviously I love Preston now. I go there all the time. I nearly bought a house there!”
“Depreston” follows “Pedestrian At Best”, the first single to be released from Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit. The album is due for release on Friday, 20th March, with Courtney Barnett set to take the record on tour this May.
