Vance Joy Just Beat Lady Gaga’s ARIA Chart Record

Vance Joy’s “Riptide” has been living not only inside your head for 107 weeks but also for the same duration in the ARIA top 100 singles chart, which has officially beaten the record previously held by Lady Gaga.

Knocking off Gaga’s “Poker Face” which only stuck around for a pathetic 106 weeks, and the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Got A Feeling” at an embarrassing 105, Vance Joy’s Hottest 100 winning earworm is now the longest running ARIA hit of all time.

Peaking at number 6, “Riptide” has been in the charts since its release in April 2013. It was already the longest charting Aussie song since it took over Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know last year”. Onya m8!

Old mate Vance Joy is just about to jet off on the 1989 World Tour with Taylor Swift, which will hit Australia this December
