He wasn’t good for attention spans more drawn to beats in the neon haze of Sasquatch at night, but for those who endured the molly pull, Josh Tillman aka Father John Misty dropped a set of sexual chocolate pulling quite heavily from his magnificent new album I Love You, Honeybear (read our glowing review).
Chemical Dance Party: Sasquatch’s EDM Culture Shift
You’re either in bed, or you’re not. Half-assing a FJM show is simply unacceptable. Walking a tightrope of acerbic wit as the gleaming points of cynicism wait beneath, Honeybear and its presenting counterparts in performance are a lyrical powerhouse in entirety, with striking polaroids of catharsis (“The moment you came to, I swore I would change”) packed tight alongside foreboding wisdom (“You may think like an animal / if you try that cat and mouse shit you’ll get bitten. Keep moving”). A fine night by any cocksman standard.
