Florence And The Machine have wished Dave Grohl well after replacing the Foo Fighters in the Friday evening headline slot at Glastonbury 2015, with the US band being forced to pull out of the scheduled performance after Grohl broke his leg on-stage in Sweden.
In her first official statement since being announced as the Foo’s headline replacement, frontman Florence Welch wrote: “We are so sorry to hear that the Foo Fighters have had to pull out of Glastonbury, we met Dave Grohl a few years back and he was the nicest guy ever.

“And [he] let me and [bandmate Isabella Summers] hang out with him, even though we were clearly very drunk, and I had no eyebrows… We are honoured to have been asked to step in, and we hope we will be able to give you as good a Friday night as the Foo’s would have…
“Sending all our love and well wishes to Dave. See you in the field.”

Grohl posted a lengthy open letter to his fans following the announcement of the Foo Fighters’ Glastonbury cancellation, offering his “sincerest apologies” for pulling out of the festival and detailing the aftermath of his mishap in Sweden. Considering how many pies the man has his fingers in, we highly doubt anyone is going to hold him having a broken leg against him.
