Tom Holland is Spider-Man, Jon Watts Will Direct the Reboot

Our long and geeky nightmare is over: Marvel and Sony have officially cast their new Spider-Man, and his name is Tom Holland. No, not the director of the 1989 horror hit Child’s Play; the young star of The Impossible and In the Heart of the Sea has been cast as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War and Marvel’s upcoming solo movie, which will now be directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car). Who is Jon Watts, and why haven’t you seen any of his films? And is there anything more to say about this news other than, “Yup, those guys are doing Spider-Man?”

‘Hannibal’ Cancelled After Three Amazing Seasons

After three critically acclaimed seasons, NBC’s Hannibal is coming to an end. That’s a little soon for a major network series with a huge following, but is this a blessing in disguise? Was there anything left for Hannibal to do after the end of Season 3, which will finally adapt the original Hannibal Lecter novel, Red Dragon? Why did this series never get around to adapting The Silence of the Lambs? And was has Hannibal consistently been one of the best and most unusual series on television?

R.I.P. James Horner (1953-2015)

Oscar-winning composer James Horner died earlier this week, leaving behind a legacy of incredible films, many of which are among the best and most popular ever produced. Most Craved’s hosts take a moment this week to recommend their favorite James Horner scores, some famous and some relatively obscure. James Horner was a legend, and he will be missed.
