Yoga Gets Bodies in Tune at Electric Forest

When it comes to embracing the radiant culture surrounding a music festival, organizers must be careful to ensure a comprehensive, uplifting and authentic experience in tandem with the arts and music. Insomniac hit the nail on its hippie-enlightening head this weekend at Electric Forest, through a wild labyrinth of visual displays, two new stages, communal book offerings, ornate treehouses, yoga classes and more in the woods of Rothbury, MI.

What better way to kick off a soul-soaring day in the forest than with a yoga session led by a highly-trained instructor? We first saw such practices at Bonnaroo, but there was a more central pulse to the sessions held by noted instructor Hannah Muse. Leading her sessions from the Tripolee stage, Muse employs a variety of techniques – meditation, mudra, mantra, pranayama and more – in her noon classes which draw thousands looking to loosen their tight camping muscles and prepare for a magical day of music in the forest.
