Good news, Ben Affleck: we are officially running out of Daredevil jokes.
More good news: we hear that you, sir, are now ready to direct the next solo Batman movie after making your first appearance as the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice next year. Deadline says you will also co-write the film with acclaimed comic book author Geoff Johns, whose runs on Green Lantern and The Flash are particularly legendary.

And to that we say, well done sir. You may very well be the right person for the job, and not just because you’re going to be on set anyway, wearing the costume. After Christopher Nolan’s idea-heavy Batman trilogy, preceding by the style-as-substance Joel Schumacher era, and the broody Tim Burton films, we can imagine that a director as dedicated to character as you, the man who directed The Town and Gone Baby Gone, will have something unique and special to bring to the table. And with a writer as knowledgable as Geoff Johns working with you, this next Batman movie could very well be something special.
We expect to hear a formal announcement coming out of this weekend’s Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con 2015, but until we learn some more details (a title perhaps? would simply calling it Batman again be too much to ask?), we will reserve our applause. For all we know you could strut out on stage announcing the villain will be Bat-Mite, for crying out loud.
Either way, Mr. Affleck, if this story is true then Crave wishes you the very, very best. After all, who doesn’t want another good Batman movie?
