Barely a week after his emotional farewell from The Daily Show, former host Jon Stewart has lined up his next gig…in the WWE!
According to USA Today, Stewart will be the host of WWE’s SummerSlam, a four-hour pay-per-view event on Sunday, August 23. Stewart is a life-long wrestling fan and he made his WWE debut earlier this year as part of an angle with current WWE Champion, Seth Rollins. As part of their scripted feud, Stewart and Rollins exchanged promos online before Rollins invaded the set of The Daily Show, as pictured above. Stewart returned the favor with an appearance on WWE Monday Night RAW last March.

WWE has gone out of its way to make this year’s SummerSlam a bigger event than usual. Arrow star Stephen Amell is going to be wrestling in a tag-team match alongside Neville as they take on Stardust and King Barrett. Former WWE and UFC Champion Brock Lesnar is also getting a rematch with the Undertaker on the SummerSlam card.
If Stewart gets involved with the in-ring action, it will likely be in the main event between Rollins and U.S. Champion John Cena, which is being billed as a “title vs. title” match.
WWE SummerSlam will take place in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center at 7PM ET/4PM PT, with a live broadcast available on WWE Network.
