The Weeknd, otherwise known as Abel Tesfaye, has not only been taking the music world by storm with the release of his most recent album, Beauty Behind the Madness, which comes out today, but he’s also gracing the cover of Billboard magazine as well as performing alongside Taylor Swift on her international 1989 tour.
“The pop-star life is a new challenge,” he told ET Canada. He said of the standing ovation he recently received at a Swift show, “When she introduced me and the whole stadium screamed their lungs out, it kind of threw me off. I did not expect that reaction.”
The Weeknd’s hit track “Can’t Feel My Face” was a huge summer smash, hitting number one on the charts just nine weeks after its release. The Weeknd’s next live appearances will be part of The Madness Fall Tour, which kicks off in November in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre.
