Adele’s super-filmic Hello music video gave the world some new memes and mashups, but it looks like it also nurtured a bond between the singer and her video director, Xavier Dolan, because the pair are reportedly in talks over Adele possibly making her feature film debut.
As Screen Daily reports, Adele is said to be in the running for an appearance in Dolan’s forthcoming movie The Death And Life Of John F. Donovan, which has already secured the likes of Kit Harrington (AKA Game Of Thrones‘ Jon Snow), Jessica Chastain, Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates.
The size of Adele’s potential role in the film remains unknown, but there have been suggestions it will only be a small supporting role or cameo. She’s not expected to contribute any original music to the movie either, but one of her songs is reportedly being considered for the film’s soundtrack.
Adele recently told the UK’s Kiss FM that she’s keen to act under Dolan’s direction. “I’m sure I’ll get some flak for this, but I actually would like to act after working with Xavier,” she said. “I would be in a film for him, definitely.”
The Death And Life Of John F. Donovan follows the story of an American movie star and the assumptions which threaten his career after his correspondence with an 11-year-old actor comes to light. The film is due for release some time in 2016.
