Austrian pop singer and Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst will return to Australia for a special one-night-only show at Sydney’s 2016 Mardi Gras Festival, where she’ll perform at the Sydney Opera House backed by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Conchita is set to make her Sydney debut with her From Vienna With Love show on Thursday, 3rd March 2016. The 2014 Eurovision winner will also be joined on stage by Mardi Gras Ambassador and performer Courtney Act, actor and cabaret performer Paul Capsis and cabaret and theatre performer Trevor Ashley. A secret surprise guest is also locked in.
Conchita will be performing tracks from her self-titled debut album, as well as songs from artists who have inspired her, like Shirley Bassey and Cher. She says the show “will definitely be a highlight” of her career.
“From Vienna With Love will build a bridge across the globe from Vienna to Sydney, full of music, love and fun,” Conchita says.
“I am really looking forward to performing with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and fabulous guest artists who all have ties to Vienna and telling a story with music that inspired me and songs from my debut album.”
Conchita’s 2016 Mardi Gras show will take place inside the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall. Catch ticket details alongside her Eurovision-winning hit Rise Like A Phoenix, below.
