Last season on Arrow, Colton Haynes’ Roy Harper sacrificed himself for Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and claimed that he was the Arrow. To save Roy’s life, his friends faked his death and he was forced to leave Starling City. But Roy will be back in 2016, for at least one episode!
TVLine is reporting that Haynes will reappear in the 12th episode of Arrow Season 4, which should air in early 2016. Haynes broke the news himself with his twitter account.
“We are beyond thrilled that Colton will be returning to Arrow this season,” said Arrow co-showrunner Marc Guggenheim. “It was always our intention to have him return following his departure last season, but it was a matter of finding the right storyline to pull it off. That opportunity presented itself in Episode 412, and we can’t wait for the fans to see this reunion.”

Arrow fans holding out for a romantic reunion between Roy and Thea (Willa Holland) may want to stop holding their breath for that. There are no indications that Haynes is sticking around past episode 12. In fact, Roy’s return might be happening just to raise the melodrama level of Thea’s new romance with Alex Davis (Parker Young).
Since leaving Arrow, Haynes has made an appearance in the San Andreas movie, and his next film role will be in Triumph.
