First Look At Max Bemis’ X-Men: Worst X-Man Ever # 1

Stacy X, Maggott, Lifeguard, Slipstream, and Beak: they are some of the worst X-Men in the franchise’s storied history. But what if there was a previously unknown X-Man who was ever worse than this lot?

Enter Bailey Hoskins, the title character of Marvel’s new series, X-Men: Worst X-Man Ever # 1. While the X-Men’s post Secret Wars status quo is pretty messed up, Worst X-Man Ever takes place in the past back when the X-Men’s school was still called the Xavier’s School for Gifted Children.

You see, while Bailey may be gifted with a mutant power, he’s got a hard lesson to learn. Not every mutant is cut out to be an X-Man. And Bailey may have some truly epic fails ahead of him if he’s going to live up to the “Worst X-Man Ever” billing that the title gives him.

X-Men: Worst X-Man Ever is the newest Marvel project written by Say Anything singer, Max Bemis, who has previously written A+X for Marvel, in addition to Polarity, Evil Empire, and Oh, Killstrike for Boom! Studios. Joining Benis on Worst X-Man Ever is artist Michael Walsh (Secret Avengers).

Marvel has released a few of Walsh’s unlettered pages from X-Men: Worst X-Man Ever # 1, which show Bailey in happier times as he adjusts to being a student at Xavier’s School. But that Sentinel at the end certainly implies that hard times are a comin’…

X-Men: Worst X-Man Ever # 1 will be released in January 2016.
