This Exclusive Poster for ‘Martyrs’ is an Eye-Opener

Like many of the most disturbing horror movies, critics didn’t always know what to make of Martyrs. The 2008 French thriller pushed the boundaries of good taste and helped usher in a new era of horror cinema across the pond, and some audiences loved and some audiences were too unsettled to approve.

Time has been on the side of Martyrs, and now it’s getting its own remake courtesy of The Brothers Goetz (Scenic Route) and screenwriter Mark L. Smith, who also co-wrote the acclaimed new revenge saga The Revenant, directed by recent Oscar-winner Alejandro Iñárritu (Birdman). And we’ve got the stylish, violent, blood red poster exclusively here at Crave!

Check it out below, and find out a little more about the film too…

Ten-year-old Lucie flees from the isolated warehouse where she has been held prisoner. Deeply traumatized, she is plagued by awful night terrors at the orphanage that takes her in. Her only comfort comes from Anna, a girl her own age. Nearly a decade later and still haunted by demons, Lucie finally tracks down the family that tortured her. As she and Anna move closer to the agonizing truth, they find themselves trapped in a nightmare – if they cannot escape, a martyr’s fate awaits them…

Martyrs arrives in theaters and Digital HD on January 22nd, 2016!
