HBO Shows off Game of Thrones Season 6 Footage In Year End Video

2015 is just about over, and before last night’s second season finale of The Leftovers, HBO did a victory lap with its annual year-end round up video. To be sure, HBO has a lot to be proud this year. Game of Thrones broke through at the Emmy Awards and earned its first Best Series prize, while The Leftovers will likely be among the critics’ top choices as one of the best TV shows of the year.

But the most interesting thing about the recap video is that it offered a taste of HBO’s 2016 original programming, including a first look at footage from Game of Thrones Season 6. To be honest, it’s about as brief a teaser as you can get. There’s a shot of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) looking particularly tired after being spirited away by her dragon, followed by Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) leading his army, and newly shorn Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) embracing her son, King Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman)…the last living child of her incestuous union with Jaime Lannister.

The video also offers a few seconds of footage from Westworld, the upcoming adaptation of Michael Crichton’s classic movie with an all-star cast including Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris. The new ‘70s rock drama, Vinyl is also seen, as is Sarah Jessica Parker’s new series, Divorce.

You can watch the entire video below, or skip ahead to the Game of Thrones footage at the 2:15 mark.
