Here’s How The Heroic Iron Boy Saved Sydney From Near Destruction Today

Following on from the heartwarming story of Bat Kid, ultimate legends Make A Wish Foundation have had another go at making a sick child’s dream of being a superhero for a day a reality, this time transforming Sydney boy Domenic into Iron Boy.

Iron Boy’s mission today was rescue TV reporter Hope Joy from the clutches of Ultron, the homicidal robot villain from the last Avengers movie. The project has been months in the making, with Make A Wish foundation working closely with the NSW Police Force to help bring Domenic’s dream to life.

Playing in the park near his home in Sydney’s south-west this morning, Domenic was surprised when PolAir landed nearby and asked for his help.

Iron Boy received words of encouragement from everyone from Iron Man himself Robert Downey Jnr to NSW Police chief Andrew Scipione, who proved that even he was a big old softy when it came to something like this.

While Domenic was aware that his wish to become a superhero for a day was going to be granted, he had no idea the scope of the project. Walking into the briefing room in Parramatta where Iron Boy HQ was set up, Domenic shook hands with Assistant Commissioner of NSW Police Force Mal Lanyon as his mother Nichole and 12 year old brother Joseph looked on.
Agreeing to transform into Iron Boy and save the day, he told the police; "I'm ready to get down to business".
And get down to business he did, moving swiftly to rescue Joy before taking on and defeating Ultron in The Sydney Opera House forecourt. Because where else would a superhero showdown happen in Sydney.
Trending on social media, and with politicians and celebrities falling over themselves to drop in on the wave of positive media coverage, everyone from Premier Mike Baird to Federal Opposition leader Bill Shorten has been posting about the story.
No amount of political opportunism was going to rain on Domenic's parade however, being awarded a medal for valor on the steps of the Opera House in commemoration of his valiant fight against evil in Sydney today.
