The Pink Power Ranger Is Getting Her Own Comic From BOOM! Studios

Get ready for a Power Rangers surge, comic fans! BOOM! Studios’ Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers ongoing series has launched with preorders topping 100,000 copies. And BOOM! isn’t wasting any time lining up the first spinoff title.

According to the Los Angeles Times, BOOM! will launch Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Pink, a new six-issue miniseries starring Kimberly Ann Hart, the original Pink Ranger on Power Rangers. On the TV series and in the first two Power Rangers movies, Kimberly was played by Amy Jo Johnson. She is arguably the most popular female character in franchise history.

Batgirl co-writer Brenden Fletcher and Kelly Thompson (Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps) are teaming to write the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Pink miniseries, with artist Daniele Di Nicuolo (Mirror’s Edge: Exordium). Thompson also writes Jem and the Holograms for IDW and she will be the new writer of A-Force for Marvel.

Elsa Charretier was the artist for the primary cover of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Pink # 1, which you can see below.

Marguerite Sauvage provided the alternate incentive cover for Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Pink # 1, which features Kimberly unmasked.

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Pink # 1 will be released in May. Don’t be too shocked if BOOM! follows it up with miniseries focusing on the other Power Rangers, especially the Green and Red Rangers. Although the Black, Blue, and Yellow Rangers are also overdue for a spotlight.
