For 78 years, Superman has been one of the most popular superheroes, and the archetype upon which almost all other comic book heroes are judged. The Last Son of Krypton was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and their legacy has endured as the creators who followed them added to Superman’s mythology and supporting cast.
This week, Insight Editions is releasing The World According to Superman, the latest installment of its “World According To” line that tells the stories of the top comic book heroes in their own words. The book was written by Louise Simonson, a long-time Superman writer and the co-creator of Steel for DC. Simonson also has an extensive list of credits at Marvel, including stints on X-Factor, New Mutants, and Power Pack.
Joining Simonson on The World According to Superman is artist Marcus To, who provided the illustrations throughout, with colors by Greg Menzie & Irma Kniivila. To is currently the artist for Hacktivist and Marvel’s New Avengers.
