Tomorrow, Daredevil season 2 will arrive on Netflix a mere 11 months after the debut of the first season. And while the new season of Daredevil is bringing The Punisher and Elektra to the party, it will still be a challenge to match the creative heights of the first season.
After original showrunner Drew Goddard stepped away to direct a Sinister Six movie that never happened, Steven S. DeKnight took over as showrunner and delivered one of the darkest Marvel Cinematic Universe projects to date. Daredevil may live in the same world as the Avengers, but his neighborhood is considerably more down to Earth and deadly. That allowed the creative team to go almost as dark as the comic book series that inspired the show.
The Daredevil series was also fortunate enough to have a really amazing cast, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Vondie Curtis-Hall as Ben Urich, Toby Leonard Moore as James Wesley, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. That same cast could have easily headlined a feature film.
Instead, they starred in perhaps the greatest superhero TV series to date. Daredevil’s production quality rivaled that of a movie, and it consistently delivered unforgettable moments. On the eve of season 2, CraveOnline is looking back at 15 of the most epic moments from Daredevil season 1.
