Amnesia Rockfest, which will celebrate its 11th edition this year in Montibello, Quebec, has announced its line-up, and it includes bands like System of a Down, Linkin Park, Ice Cube, Blink-182, Snoop Dogg, and Slayer.
Jane’s Addiction, Korn, and Rise Against will perform as well.
“It’s actually a record for the number of bands this year,” said festival founder Alex Martel to the Ottawa Citizen. “I really focused it on punk rock, metal and hardcore, which is how Rockfest started. Obviously it’s more diverse now but I wanted to go back to those roots. Our early fans are happy and feel like the old Rockfest is back, but at the same time, I tried to keep the diversity that we’ve added in the past couple of years. I think it’s a good balance for everyone.”
Amnesia Rockfest runs from June 23-26. General tickets are on sale now (and going quick – early bird passes are already sold out, and for the past three years running, the event itself has completely sold out). There are several on-site campgrounds that offer a variety of accommodations.
According to the Amnesia Rockfest website, Rockfest was created in 2005 by a 17-year-old kid from Montebello who was passionate about music.
