We’ve been avoiding the rumors about Axl Rose fronting AC/DC for the last week, in part out of horror, in part out of hope, but given that photos have surfaced of both factions entering and leaving a rehearsal studio, it’s time we start paying serious attention.
The Guns N’ Roses frontman has been reportedly tapped to fill in as lead singer for AC/DC, which is opening for a reunited GNR on its upcoming tour. TMZ has posted footage of Axl at a rehearsal studio in Atlanta with Angus Young and co. on Friday, suggesting that not only will Axl front GNR on their hell-freezes-over reunion tour, but he’ll also sing in the opening band throughout the tour. We’ll take this one with a grain of salt, given that Alice in Chains has been tapped for the existing GNR dates thus far. Check out GNR tour details here.
This is the guy who’s notoriously late to his own shows, often making fans wait multiple hours before performing – if he does at all. And when he does, he sure as hell doesn’t sound anything like the old Axl.
Careful what you wish for…
