Exclusive Preview | ‘Black Widow’ # 2

As they say in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Widow (a.k.a. Natasha Romanova) has a lot of “red” on her ledger. She’s found a measure of redemption as a heroine on the Avengers and as a super spy for S.H.I.E.L.D., but now Natasha is on the run and she’s been branded a traitor by her former S.H.I.E.L.D. teammates!

Granted, Natasha didn’t help her case when she stole top secret date from S.H.I.E.L.D. and staged a very high profile escape from the helicarrier. That almost seemed like an intentional performance. But if that was the case, who was Natasha trying to convince?

Next week, co-writers Mark Waid and Chris Samnee are continuing their reunion on Black Widow # 2, and CraveOnline has the exclusive preview pages by Samnee and colorist Matthew Wilson, with letters by Joe Caramagna. And it looks like Natasha is crashing a funeral for one of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s best young agents…

Here’s Marvel’s solicitation copy for Black Widow # 2:

“As S.H.I.E.L.D.’s top brass gather to bury one of their own, they make an attractive target. Lucky for Maria Hill, the agency’s persona non grata, Black Widow, is still watching over them. But that could mean Natasha will have a hard time watching her own back!”

Black Widow # 2 will be released on Wednesday, April 6 in comic book stores everywhere.
