The messy divorce of legendary game designer Hideo Kojima and Konami cost gamers the Silent Hills title and the terrific P.T. that was wiped away like it never existed. But at the very least, fans got one last Metal Gear Solid game from the man who started it all.
This fall, Dark Horse Comics will publish The Art of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, a 184-page hardcover book that features the concept art for Metal Gear V as well as the “genre-defining science-fiction military action and drama” designs. Basically, there’s a lot of art in this book that hasn’t been seen before.

The Art of Metal Gear Solid V will have a standard release that will codec in at $39.99, but you can get a better deal by going to Amazon or other online retailers. And for the hardest of hardcore Metal Gear Solid V fans, Dark Horse is also releasing a limited edition of 400 copies that will come with “a tactical slipcase” and a high-end art print by Ashley Wood, an artist who has a lot of history with the franchise.
Dark Horse Comics will release The Art of Metal Gear Solid V on November 2 in comic book stores everywhere.
