In the alternate world of Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden’s Baltimore, Lord Henry Baltimore and his allies have narrowly survived a battle with the forces of the Red King. However, three of their number were not so lucky.
The saga of Baltimore continues in Baltimore: Empty Graves, as Mignola and Golden are once again joined by artist Peter Bergting and colorist Dave Stewart for the next chapter in the story. In Empty Graves, the assembled team says goodbye to Mr. Hodge, Captain Demetrius Aischiros, and Thomas Childress, while lamenting that they can only bury one of their friends. Hodge will get his own grave, but the Captain has been lost to the sea and Childress’ body was stolen by a witch for some dark design.
In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview for Baltimore: Empty Graves # 2, one of their surviving allies suggests breaking away from Baltimore while Archie Kidd shares the story of how he first encountered the supernatural after something vile latched on to his wife, Maggie when he was still a blacksmith in Trumbull village.
Here’s Dark Horse’s description of Baltimore: Empty Graves # 2:
“Before Baltimore and company set out for Constantinople to hunt the Blood Red Witch, old friends are buried and they prepare to face their own graves in their hunt for the Red King.”
Baltimore: Empty Graves # 2 will be released tomorrow, May 4 in comic stores everywhere.
