Comedy Central Australia Launch New Sketch Show ‘Trendy’

Comedy Central Australia has today launched a brand new Australian sketch show called Trendy. Put together by absurdist comedy troupe Aunty Donna,  the show which premieres every Friday beginning today Friday 6th May will point the finger and laugh at whatever is Trendy in hipster culture.

Driven by actors, writers and creators Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly, and Zachary Ruane, the show is the Comedy Central‘s first Australian effort, the five episode series marking a tentative start.

“Hey sh*t machines we hope you like our new web series ‘Trendy’ for Comedy Central Australia. It’s available worldwide so all you pr*cks can watch it. We made 5 sketches and I think I may have depression,” Aunty Donna posted to their fans.

Exploding onto Melbourne’s comedy scene like a nocturnal emission back in 2012, the troupe’s zany antics and sketches led them to create their own award-winning YouTube channel.

Garnering over 100,000 subscribers and 13 million views, the trio knew a good thing when they saw it. Demonstrating their illogical yet undeniable cult following, the boys struggled to meet their fans’ demands for more.

Exclusive to Comedy Central Australia, the show will feature fast-paced out there sketches ripped from the streets and avenues of Australia’s cultural landscape. Available globally on comedycentral.com.au, local comedy lovers with Fetch TV can check it out on Comedy Central, channel 108.

And keep an eye out for more from the US comedy giant with the network promising it will continue to commission new and exclusive content local talent, with the next homegrown commission being announced mid-May.
