Alden Ehrenreich is Your New Han Solo!

The long search for the galaxy’s most popular vest enthusiast is finally over. Alden Ehrenreich, the scene-stealing star of the Coen Bros. comedy Hail, Caesar!, has been cast as Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars prequel, according to The Wrap.

Alden Ehrenreich reportedly won the role over thousands of other actors, some known, some unknown. The actor previously co-starred in the horror movie Stoker and the underrated YA romance Beautiful Creatures.

The film is scheduled to premiere on May 25, 2018 and will be directed by 21 Jump Street and The LEGO Movie filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The Force Awakens screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan wrote the screenplay with his son, Jon Kasdan. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is a prequel and is expected to take place prior to the events of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope

Various storylines are being rumored for the film, which hint that the prequel may reveal how Han Solo met Chewbacca, or establish a longer rivalry with the galaxy’s most dangerous bounty hunter, Boba Fett.

Disney has yet to confirm the report, and we will update this article if the news turns out to be bunk. However, The Wrap has an excellent reputation, and we have every reason to believe their sources are accurate.
