Be still thy beating heart people, Bill Hader‘s hitman sitcom Barry has finally gotten the go ahead from HBO, after six months of deliberation Deadline reports.
Following Hader as the titular Barry, the series sees the cheapo Midwest hitman travel to LA on a job only to fall in with a bad crowd – an enthusiastic young theatre troupe – and hi-jinx ensue.
To say we are excited about this would be an understatement.

Set to co-star Henry “The Fonz” Winkler as inspiring acting teacher Gene Cousineau, Stephen Root as Barry’s boss Fuches and Sarah Goldberg as Sally, an aspiring actress who introduces Barry into LA’s theatre scene, there is no shortage of talent on the show.
Hader and Alex Berg will serve as executive producers on the half hour comedy, with Hader also directing the pilot. Shooting in LA in 2017 though, it may still be a while until we get to see this televisual masterpiece for ourselves.
Oh and it being on HBO also means we Aussies will have to pull a Games Of Thrones to watch it and “wait patiently until legal means of acquiring the show become available to us”.
Thanks HBO.
