Mark Hamill may be best known for playing Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars films and giving the Joker his voice in several Batman cartoons and video games, but he is also well known as a true geek of the highest order. Hamill doesn’t just talk a good game, he lives and breathes geek culture.
That’s why Comic-Con HQ is giving Hamill his own show: Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest. The new series is set to begin production this month after Hamill finishes his part in Star Wars: Episode VIII. Hamill will host Pop Culture Quest and talk with fans while showing off their impressive collections.
As part of the announcement, Hamill filmed a video promo for Pop Culture Quest in which he made a mission statement about the series.

“This show is a natural outgrowth of that passion,” said Hamill in a statement.“Now I have an opportunity to collect other people’s collections! I can’t wait to see what’s out there and share it with the world. Collectibles are a living history of who and what we are, so we just might learn something … but there’s no doubt we’re going to have fun!”
Comic-Con HQ is a subscription service that is jointly run by Lionsgate and Comic-Con International, the company behind the San Diego Comic-Con and WonderCon. That means that you’re gonna have to subscribe if you want to see Hamill’s show, but there is free trial option as well.
Given that this year’s San Diego Comic-Con is only a few weeks away, we wouldn’t be shocked if Comic-Con HQ gave Hamill a spotlight panel at the convention to promote his new show. In fact, you can probably bet on it.
