Watch the New Trailer for ‘Marco Polo’ Season 2

Marco Polo (Lorenzo Richelmy) has won the trust and respect of Kublai Khan (Benedict Wong). But before Marco can bask in the honor of becoming one of the Mongol Knights, he may have reason to question whether he picked the wrong side and whether Khan can hold on to his power.

Netflix has released a new trailer for Marco Polo season 2, which finds Marco and Khan seemingly gaining new enemies as control of the Middle Kingdom slips out of Khan’s grasp. There’s also a good look at new cast member, Michelle Yeoh as the Handmaiden. And don’t let her title fool you, she’ll be using a sword quite often…

Here’s Netflix’s description for the second season of the series:

“In a world replete with greed, betrayal, sexual intrigue and rivalry, Marco Polo is based on the famed explorer’s adventures in Kublai Khan’s court in 13th Century China, and the dark and tempestuous battle for the expanding Mongol empire.”

The season 2 cast includes Joan Chen as Empress Chabi, Zhu Zhu as Kokachin, Tom Wu as Hundred Eyes, Olivia Cheng as Mei Lin, Claudia Kim as Khutulun, Rick Yune as Kaidu, Remy Hii as Prince Jingim, Mahesh Jadu as Ahmad, and Uli Latukefu as Byamba.

All ten episodes of Marco Polo will launch simultaneously on Netflix around the world on July 1.
