Microsoft announced a new Xbox Live Arena feature during its E3 2016 press conference, which introduces tournaments between friends to the online service.
Xbox Live Arena allows players to stage tournaments with one another via the Xbox One dashboard, with it including games such as Smite and World of Tanks. According to Microsoft, EA has also signed up to the new system and will be bringing the likes of FIFA 17 and Madden 17 to it in the future. Players will also be able to join tournaments with other players, so we assume that it’s similar to certain services currently available on PC. Microsoft and other studios will be able to stage tournaments using the system.
Not much is known about the Xbox Live Arena thus far, but we should hear more in the near future. Microsoft also announced a selection of other new Xbox Live features, including Clubs and Looking For Group.
