Only Cynthia Erivo Could’ve Made This Dramatic Manicure Work

Cynthia Erivo’s “Wicked” nails are dramatic, spectacular, and so Elphaba coded. The British actor has been busy promoting her upcoming fantasy musical at star-studded events. While she has been serving looks one after the other, her latest manicure at the Los Angeles premiere of the film is gaining traction.

Interestingly, the brain behind Cynthia Erivo’s “Wicked” nails is 19-year-old Dior, a celebrity licensed nail artist who runs Clawz By Dior in L.A. Although recreating the nail art may not be an easy feat, Dior has shared details about the products used in making the glitzy manicure.

Cynthia Erivo’s nails have stones on them

Cynthia Erivo is in tune with Emerald City aesthetics as she channels Elphaba, her character from “Wicked,” in her grand outfits as well as nails. Recently, Erivo stunned in a custom Louis Vuitton gown at the Los Angeles premiere of “Wicked,” where her embellished manicure became a matter of the moment. Her dramatically long green and silver nails, which her nail artist calls “clawz,” have come to fruition using OPI’s exclusive nail polish range.

Nail artist Dior dished about Erivo’s recent manicure in two Instagram posts. In the first post, the artist revealed using four GelColor shades from OPI’s “Wicked” collection — Witch O’Clock, Ozitively Elphaba, Black Onyx, and Alpine Snow. The Clawz By Dior owner then painted geometric lines above the solid colors and decorated them with embellishments for a high fashion look. However, the artistry did not stop there. Dior also revealed using Bluestreak Crystals and Serinity Crystals atop the bold designs to create the Elphaba-inspired nail art.

Dior’s nail creation is truly genius, and Cynthia Erivo has credited the artist during the interviews. Moreover, the nail tech claimed that Erivo’s manicure was approved by pop singer Ariana Grande. The latter plays the role of Glinda in “Wicked” and graced the film’s L.A. premiere in a strapless Thom Browne dress.
