Doechii Continues Corpcore Run With Edgy Look

Doechii‘s reign over the office siren trend just improved in the latest corpcore outfit for her visit to the GRAMMY museum. On Wednesday, the rapper, whose original name is Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, attended Spotlight: Doechii at GRAMMY Museum L.A. Live, wearing what almost resembled a schoolgirl outfit with very few casual details. The event occurred in light of the 26-year-old’s recent Grammy nominations in the Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance, and Best New Artist categories. There, she discussed her latest album “Alligator Bites Never Heal,” the nominations, and more before delivering a special performance.

Doechii’s GRAMMY Museum look is a total vibe

Once again dressed by celebrity stylist Sam Woolf, Doechii nailed another corpcore trend outfit for an evening at the GRAMMY Museum. Woolf, best known for transforming her style in 2024, masterminded the rapper’s schoolgirl aesthetic for Spotlight: Doechii at GRAMMY Museum L.A. Live. She donned a structured, beige look for the event now that she is officially a Grammy-nominated musician. Some of her outfit’s more notable features included a colorful half-tie and a broach pinned near her left shoulder with another one pinned near her waist.

The singer’s eye-catching dress comprised intricate details, including elongated lapels and well-organized shoulders. The bodice consisted of puffy sleeves to add a more dramatic note and was completely cinched around the waistline. This also delivered a corset-like appearance. The pleated skirt, barely reaching her thighs, exhibited a playful side especially when paired with the calf-length socks. Doechii finally sported cutesy pointed-toe heels in a darker color for a contrasting component. Meanwhile, her neat hairdo and dramatic makeup promoted the office siren vibe.

While there for the event that the GRAMMY Museum described as an “intimate” evening, Doechii talked about the “Alligator Bites Never Heal” album. She also discussed her multiple nominations and later delivered special performances of her tracks “Persuasive,” “BOILED PEANUTS,” and “What It Is” for the audience.
