Damn, China. You’re scary.
According to CNN, a Chinese high school teacher and the school that employs him are facing quite the backlash after photos surfaced of hundreds of students taking their exams on a playground that is surrounded by a thick gray haze.
That thick gray haze? You guessed it: Severe air pollution that most people in the civilized world call smog that has been proven to cause breathing difficulties, coughing, throat and chest irritations and lung damage.
In the photo, hundreds of 14-year-old eighth-grade students at the Linqi County No.1 High School in the Chinese province of Henan are seen taking their exams amongst the massive cloud of smog Monday morning “despite the bureau of education issuing a notice to suspend school activities.”
Now many people are calling for the removal of both the teacher and the administrator responsible for making the kids show up and take the test anyway.
In a related story, it’s no wonder everybody in China seemingly smokes three packs a day. It might actually be better for you than breathing the air there.
