For the most part, job interviews are usually pretty basic, and nothing out of the ordinary occurs. Well, sometimes the guy that is being interviewed decides to steal his boss’ wallet. Or sometimes during a job interview you get asked if you would watch your own parents have sex. You know, typical stuff. But a woman named Taylor Byrnes had her interview canceled after she asked how much she would be getting paid. Bold question, right?
Byrnes, from Canada, had already had a phone interview with the food delivery service SkipTheDishes for a position with them. But before her second interview, Byrnes decided to send an email and ask about wages.
Here’s the email.

It’s polite, and there’s nothing wrong about it at all. Well, don’t tell that to the woman on the receiving end of that email: Victoria Karras. Why? Well, Karras decided to go right ahead and cancel the interview out of the blue.

“Your questions reveal that your priorities are not in sync with those of SkipTheDishes.”
So they are upset that Karras is interested in getting paid…for a job…got it.
Karras decided to send yet another email to Byrnes.

Translation: they seek those that enjoy working for nothing.
Byrnes of course took this absurd incident to her Twitter.

Co-founder Joshua Simair also chimed in on the matter.
“The email sent to Taylor was wrong and does not represent our team’s approach or values. We are very disappointed in how it was handled. We do share a compensation package prior to hiring. As soon as we became aware of it on Monday, we reached out to Taylor to apologize for the email and reschedule her interview.”
Well then, might be a tad too late, as now the company just looks bad. Sorry you couldn’t make a dent in the big world of food delivery, SkipTheDishes.
