When you’re a celebrity sports star, it’s tough to retire. You go from thousands of fans cheering you on in stadiums across the country to the cricket-chirp quiet of your mansion. You no longer have the motivation to work out or eat right. You have all the time in the world on your hands – not to mention millions of dollars burning a hole in your pocket. So it’s no wonder that some athletes can’t stay away from the game.
But everyone can agree that Tom Brady took a laughably short retirement — less than six weeks! Then the seven-time Super Bowl champ shocked everyone (or did he?) with the announcement that he’s coming back to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands,” he wrote. “That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG.”

This means the 44-year-old, who is the oldest player currently in the NFL, will play a 23rd season starting this fall. Will it be his last? Who knows.
What is for sure is that Twitter had some hilarious hot takes and reactions to the announcement. Whether you love Brady or hate him, you have to find some humor in the situation.
