For anyone who still uses Facebook, you may have come across your friends bragging and boasting about their high scores in a game called Wordle. For the uninitiated, Wordle is a daily online crossword game that can only be played once a day. Every 24 hours, there’s a new word of the day, and it’s up to you to figure out what it is. And after you play, it’s apparently mandatory that you smugly share your daily Wordle score to your ever-so-jealous friends on Facebook.
But what happens when a married couple plays Wordle together? Do they get to jointly annoy their friends by posting their daily Wordle scores? More importantly, what happens to the Wordle scores when they get a divorce? Well, that appears to be the case for a recently divorced couple.
It runs out that the poly Brooklyn-based couple got divorced after the wife caught her husband cheating on Wordle.
“My husband and I have a very open marriage and practice non-hierarchical polyamory,” said the woman. “But there are just some things I will not tolerate and, in this case, cheating in Wordle.”
Although the husband claims it was just a one-time thing and he only did it to appear smug for their Facebook friends, he understands why his wife wants to split.
Interestingly enough, the couple is willing to divide up all their possessions but unwilling to do so with their Wordle Scores.
“Look, I still care for the guy and it’s not like I wish bad things for him,” said the woman. “I mean, I’m willing to give him the majority of our recumbent bicycles and gluten-free products. However, that bastard went way too far by cheating in Wordle and there’s just no way I will divide up my Wordle scores.”
The husband, not wanting to look like he doesn’t care about Worlde and letting his entire friend’s list know it’s all he does, is going to fight her in court.
