When you boot up Batman: Arkham City you can expect to hear a brand-new voice for Joker’s female companion, Harley Quinn. Arleen Sorkin, who has been the voice of Harley since 1992’s Batman: The Animated Series, has moved on from the role, reports Batman: Arkham City developer, Rocksteady Studios.
In her place steps Tara Strong, another veteran of the cartoon and video game voice work scene. Some of Strong’s resume bulletpoints include X-23 in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Rikku in Kingdom Hearts 2, Sheegor from Psychonauts and the Huntress from the Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated series.
To ease the pain of Sorkin’s departure, Rocksteady has posted a Q&A with Tara Strong on the official Arkham City website. In the interview, Strong talks about approaching the role of Harley, what she’s bringing to the table and how she plans to “honor” Sorkin’s legacy with the character. It’s a solid read, I recommend you check it out.
