Epic Mickey 1 Coming to 360 and PS3?

If it were up to him, Junction Point boss Warren Spector would get his port on with Disney’s Epic Mickey. While talking with Game Informer at the Game Developers Conference earlier this month, Spector made it clear that he’s definitely interested in bringing Epic Mickey 1 to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 before its sequel launches on those consoles.

“I will tell you I desperately want to do it, and other than that I have no comment at this time,” Spector told Game Informer. “I just think it would be cool for people to see where the story started, so we’ll see.”

Spector added, however, that he still stands by the decision to reintroduce the world to Mickey Mouse exclusively through Nintendo’s Wii console. “We sold many millions of copies of [Epic Mickey] on just the Wii, and being on the Wii was great,” added Spector. “It was a perfect way to reintroduce Mickey as a hero in video games.”

If an Epic Mickey 1 port becomes a reality, it should be interesting to see how the transition is handled on the Xbox 360. With the PlayStation 3, Spector and his crew can pretty easily transfer over the motion controls one for one. On the 360… not so much. It’s Kinect or bust. So would a 360 port of Epic Mickey 1 drop the motion controls altogether? I guess we’ll find out if this port actually happens.

As for Epic Mickey 2, the game will launch on Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3. It will be a musical and its debut trailer just released last week. Be sure to check it out if you haven’t already.
