Last night’s episode of “Sons of Anarchy” kicked off the long anticipated reign of Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) over SAMCRO… and it wasn’t the most auspicious beginning.
Damon Pope (Harold Perrineau) declared war on SAMCRO for the murder of his daughter. And by the end of the episode, Pope had struck directly at the MC by killing the daughter of Tig (Kim Coates) and forcing Jax and Chibs (Tommy Flanagan) to go on the run to escape a police warrant for their arrest.
In this new trailer for the rest of the fifth season, it appears that both Jax and Tig will end up fighting for their lives behind bars as Gemma (Katey Sagal) and Tara (Maggie Siff) escalate their own war against each other. Despite his best efforts, even Opie (Ryan Hurst) appears to be in the mix as he goes to someone fairly surprising for answers. Also, Romero Parada (Danny Trejo) and Luis Torres (Benito Martinez) may finally make their move against Jax.
Word out of FX is that the season five premiere of “Sons of Anarchy” hit a series high 5.37 million viewers. And with the series already renewed for a sixth season, the men of SAMCRO won’t be stopping any time soon.
