As “American Horror Story: Asylum” gets ready for its bloody endgame, co-creator Ryan Murphy is already looking ahead to next season when “American Horror Story” will once again change settings with a new cast of characters.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan noted “I don’t think anything could ever be as dark as the mental health care system in our country. I sorta feel like for the third version I want to do something that’s a little bit more ‘evil glamour.’”
“And we’re contemplating shooting the show in a different place,” continued Ryan. “We’re contemplating shooting it in a place in the country where true horror has been. We’ve got lots of delicious plans.”
“One of the things that I missed this season was I really loved having that Romeo & Juliet youth story with Violet and Tate,” added Ryan. “I want something like that again and we’re doing something like that in the third season.”
Thus far, only Jessica Lange has been confirmed to be coming back for the third season of “American Horror Story.” Lange portrayed Constance Langdon in the first season of the series (which earned her an Emmy) and she is currently playing Sister Jude on “American Horror Story: Asylum.”
When Lange’s return was announced, Ryan and his collaborator, Brad Falchuk hinted that Lange won’t be the only performer on board for another season on the show.
“American Horror Story” season 3 is expected to debut in October 2013.
