Exclusive Video: Martin Freeman on The Hobbit

Martin Freeman stars in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, available on DVD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray 3D on March 19, and he's wearing a fabulous purple suit in this video interview with William "Bibbs" Bibbiani, right here at CraveOnline. Freeman plays Bilbo Baggins, a role originated by Sir Ian Holm in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy. The new Hobbit trilogy shows how the most unlikely of heroes helped fell the great dragon Smaug and come into possession of the ring of power, which would turn out to be the most important sliver of metal in all of Middle Earth.

Bibbs grills the star on his personal history with J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy series, how the ending of The Hobbit changed when the film split from two films into three, and Andy Serkis's first turn behind the camera as Peter Jackson's 2nd Unit Director. Freeman also has some decidedly choice words for his "Sherlock" co-star, and the future voice of Smaug, Benedict Cumberbatch. You can see them on-screen together (sort of) in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which hits theaters on December 13, 2013.
