When New Line and Warner Bros. dropped their plans for Dumb and Dumber To, the Farrelly brothers official sequel to their 1994 hit, things looked grim to get Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels on screen together again.
Well, Universal rode to the rescue and apparently put the next adventure of Lloyd and Harry on the fast track. Crave’s /Film reported Tuesday on Daniels’ admission on Jimmy Fallon that he is expecting to start shooting Dumb and Dumber To this September.
“It’ll be the 20th anniversary of the first one next year when it’s released. I’ve seen the script. It’s hysterical. We’re middle-aged. We’re not pretending we aren’t. We’re middle-aged and we’re still that stupid.”
Daniels did add that he won’t believe anything until he’s staring at Carrey on set. With this kind of schedule, Universal may be trying to get Dumb and Dumber To into theaters for 2014. Time will tell.
