Whedon: Avengers: Age of Ultron Won’t Follow Comic Story; No Hank Pym

The interwebs darn near went crazy (not near royal heir levels, but good for a movie) when Joss Whedon took the Comic Con stage Saturday to not only reveal the above image of the official title of his sequel to Marvel’s The Avengers but drop some details.

Crave’s Comingsoon.net was in the Hall H audience when Whedon revealed Ultron will be the main villain for his sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron

“He has been THE Avengers villain for so long, I was amazed anybody was surprised it was going to be him in a movie. But we’re sort of crafting our own version of it, where his origin comes more from The Avengers that we already know about it.”

Whedon also told the cheering crowd that despite sharing a name, his film would not follow the storyline of this year’s Age of Ultron comic series.  Whedon also said Hank Pym will NOT be part of his story so he is changing Ultron’s origin to fit the film.

Whedon discussed a darker tone and more Hawkeye. Definitely click over to read the full article before Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out May 1, 2015.
