This Christmas Keanu Reeves wants to give you the gift of a movie about honor in a fantasy realm. Whether 47 Ronin will deliver on that promise is another matter entirely.
Reeves stars as an outcast who joins a troupe of ronin (masterless samurai warriors) to seek bloody revenge on a deceitful lord responsible for the death of their former master. (Yes, there are 47 of them.) The trailer dropped Wednesday on Crave's Collider website and shows a lot of swords, sorcery, monster women and other fantasy tropes.
47 Ronin opens December 25.
