During the second season of “Sherlock,” James Moriarty (Andrew Scott) systematically destroyed Sherlock’s life and tried to force him to commit suicide. Somehow, Sherlock was able to fake his own death, even if it’s not quite clear how he did it.
The last scene of season 2 revealed that Sherlock was alive, but how will his friends take his return? Well… I say friends. But really, Sherlock has only one friend: Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman).
With the new season of “Sherlock” set to debut in the United Kingdom later this year, BBC One has released the first teaser trailer that includes familiar faces like Mrs. Hudson (Una Stubbs), Detective Inspector Greg Lestrade (Rupert Graves), Mycroft Holmes (Mark Gatiss), Molly Hooper (Louise Brealey) and John Watson (rockin’ a ‘stache) before we inevitably see Sherlock, possibly on the verge of revealing himself.
“Sherlock” Season 3 will premiere on BBC One during the fall and it will likely come to the U.S. in early 2014 on PBS.
