A number of Hollywood A-listers will be making their way to Toronto for TIFF this year, including Nicole Kidman, Kate Winsley, Colin Firth, Jude Law, Hugh Jackman, Daniel Radcliff, and Keira Knightley.
The last batch of films that will be showing at the Toronto International Film Festival were announced recently, highlighting a number of major celebs who will be on-hand during the event next month. Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves, Reese Witherspoon, and Marion Cotillard will also be there. A total of 288 features and 78 shorts will be shown at TIFF.
“I think that unquestionably Toronto is now positioned as one of the key – if not the key – festivals for awards-season launch, so of course many of the stars will come to the festival as well as the major directors,” festival director Piers Handling said Tuesday in a conference call with reporters (as reported by The Canadian Press). “They’ve looked at the track record of Toronto over the last 15, 20 years, which is very impressive. Many films go on to multiple nominations and we’ve had a track record of picking best picture as well as many of the best actors over the years.”
