Since the debut of “Archer,” FX has been looking for another animated series to pair up with it. “Unsupervised” wasn’t the hit the network had hoped for, so now FX is looking into a little cryptozoology.
FX has ordered a pilot episode of “Bigfoot,” based upon cartoonist Graham Roumieu’s faux-autobiographical Bigfoot books: In Me Own Words: The Autobiography of Bigfoot, Me Write Book: It Bigfoot Memoir and Bigfoot: I Not Dead.
“American Dad” veteran Matt McKenna is attached to write the pilot and executive produce the potential series on FX alongside Seth Rogen. “Archer” creator Adam Reed is also executive producing “Bigfoot” alongside Matt Thompson, Jimmy Miller, Evan Goldberg and Sam Hansen.
In a very brief statement, Rogen said “This will be the greatest show about an animated Bigfoot ever made.”
FX’s spinoff channel, FXX recently ordered “Chozen,” an animated series produced by “Eastbound and Down” star Danny McBride. Meanwhile, FX has primarily been lining up live action comedies to replace the shows moving to FXX. Included among the new FX comedy projects are Billy Crystal’s “The Comedians,” Donald Glover’s “Atlanta” and Tracy Morgan’s “Death Pact.”
