Mark Wahlberg and his brothers Donnie (who is an actor/musician) and Paul (who is a chef), are bringing their burger chain Wahlburgers north of the border to Toronto.
The Wahlberg family will be opening a resto at SoHo Metropolitan Hotel. “Having spent a lot of time in the city, we have a strong connection to Toronto and appreciate the vibrant food culture,” said Paul Wahlberg in a release (as reported by Global News). The new eatery will consist of a sports bar, dining area and take-out counter, and Mark Wahlberg will join Paul and other VIP guests at a “green carpet” event (in honour of their green “W” logo) at the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel on September 9th during TIFF to celebrate the announcement.
Wahlburgers began in the Wahlbergs’ home town of Boston. They serve a wide variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and cocktails. Check out their website for a full menu. The first Canadian Wahlburgers is expected to open in early 2014.
