The good news for “Wilfred” fans is that FX has renewed the series for a fourth season. The bad news is that this will be the end of the series.
FX Networks has formally announced that the fourth and final season of “Wilfred” will be moving to FXX in 2014, with a shortened order of 10 episodes. The three previous seasons of “Wilfred” ran for 13 episodes each on FX. The original Australian incarnation of “Wilfred” created by Jason Gann and Adam Zwar ran for 16 episodes.
“Wilfred” stars Elijah Wood as Ryan, a mentally troubled man who sees his neighbor’s dog, Wilfred (Gann) as a surly Australian man in a cheap dog suit.
Former FX comedies “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” and “The League” have already moved to FXX, leaving “Archer” and “Anger Management” as the remaining flagship comedy series on FX.
The final season of “Wilfred’ will likely debut in Summer 2014 on FXX.
